What is Arthritis and Joint Pain
If you are young and healthy, you must not be paying any attention to the working of the joints in your body. The joints in the body are the junctions where two or more bones meet. The purpose of a joint could be to give movement (such as elbow or knee joints) or provide stability / bear weight (such as shoulder joint).

Turmeric and Ginger Tea

Most people are not aware that not only turmeric, but also ginger acts as an anti – inflammatory agent. Both these natural products assist in solving problems caused by wear and tear of bone joints as well as the deficiency of body’ immunity efficiency. In the recent years, huge importance is being attached to turmeric. Turmeric contains many chemical compounds, out of which one of the active components is Curcumin, which works as an effective antioxidant. Bring to a boil about 2 cups of water, add half teaspoon each of ground turmeric powder and fresh ground ginger. Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes and strain. You may add a dash of honey for taste and it is now ready.
This tea preparation can be consumed on a daily basis.
Epsom salt is a natural mineral compound in its pure form contains magnesium and sulfate. Mankind has long been using it as a natural therapy for various ailments. Being rich in magnesium, Epsom salt helps to regulate the pH levels in the body. This is very beneficial for inflammation causing diseases such as arthritis which are due to high acidity levels in the body. Epsom salt bath has long been used to provide relief from pain and reduce inflammation, making it advantageous for the treatment of sore muscles also.
Research has shown that the skin readily absorbs both sulfate and magnesium. Therefore, Epsom salt baths are an easy and simple way to enjoy the related health benefits. Magnesium give many benefits in the body including regulating the activity of over 300 enzymes, reducing inflammation, supporting muscle and nerve function, and serving to prevent artery hardening. Similarly Sulfates are known to assist the absorption of nutrients, flush toxins, and provide relief in case of migraine headaches.
Mix Epsom salt with hot water and apply to get gentle relief for painful arthritis joints. You may like to soak your aching feet in lukewarm water with three table spoons of Epsom Salt. Epsom salt softens skin and will even neutralize foot odor.
Regular Oil Massage
As per the Arthritis Foundation, massage can help ease pain and stiffness of arthritic joints. In addition, there can be improved range of motion. You can use mustard oil for massaging the aching joints to ease arthritis pain and inflammation. It is seen that massage and oil combination works as a natural ointment and stimulates blood flow.
For better results, some people recommend slightly warm mustard oil to be mixed with an equal amount of onion juice if there is swelling too.
Some other people also advocate use of a small amount of eucalyptus oil to ease inflammation.
Honey and Cinnamon Combination
Both Cinnamon and Honey are packed with health benefits. Take advantage of the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of Cinnamon to help ease arthritis pain by taking half teaspoon of cinnamon powder with one spoon of honey in warm water. Take this concoction for a few days every morning on an empty stomach.
Another way of taking the benefit would be to massage softly on the painful area a paste of cinnamon and honey.
Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar
People have reported success in improving the arthritis pain levels when they took honey mixed apple cider vinegar, mixed with warm water and taken a few times a day. Apple cider vinegar is rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus.. Moreover, it helps remove the buildup of toxins in the joints and connective tissues. Thus, it is useful in relieving joint pain
